Background:

Distorted images of flowers can extend nature's beauty. Click here for an example.

Such distortion can take place right at the point of capture by use of filters or introduction of motion blur. Or use a piece of glass with water dripping down one side. Or try multiple superimposed exposures.

Or it can be accomplished with a whole variety of darkroom or computer manipulation techniques. With the latter, for example, experiment with any of the Photoshop (Elements) Distort filters, and use of different layer blending techniques, such as Difference.

Processing in the darkroom also opens many opportunities: multiple superimposed exposures, filters in front of the enlarger lens, sandwiched negatives, different developers, dodging and burning etc.

The possibilities are wide open. But remember to maintain the single floral image source apparent in the final result!
