The Desert Camera Club conducts programs of education, competitions, newsletters and photographic outings for the benefit of its members.

  • The Desert Camera Club 2008 Annual Awards Banquet was a rousing success!

  • NEW! S4C (Southern California Council of Camera Clubs) has launched its website for entering its 2008 44th International Exhibition! Click here to enter Color (2 sections), Nature (2 sections), or Print (4 sections). S4C's 2007 43rd International Exhibition of Photography was held last July. Click here to view medal winning images
  • S4C (Southern California Council of Camera Clubs) has held it's last competition of the 2007-08 competition year. The first competition of the 2008-09 competition year will be held in October (deadline for submission of digital images: September 30). Click here for competition guidelines, here for details of how to enter digitally, and here for schedule of future competitions (the 2008-08 schedule will not be available for awhile).

    S4C's 2008 Annual Awards Banquet will be held on Saturday, June 7. Details to follow.     Click here for medal winning images from the 2006-07 competition year presented at the 2007 Annual Awards Banquet!

     S4C has now gone all Digital and Print! There are no more Slide competitions. Digital competitions are now held in Color, Creative, Monochrome, Interclub Color, Nature (General, Wildlife), Photo Travel, and Photojournalism. Print competitions are held in Large Color, Small Color, and Monochrome.

    For instructions and other information on S4C's digital competitions, click here. The deadline for submission into digital competitions is the last evening of the preceding month. Prints may still be submitted on the day of competition. There are no time limits on images (they could have been taken in 1944!) and you do not have to attend the competition to enter.

    At least one month prior to entering competition, a Uniform Entry Number (UEN) must be obtained. Click here to download form and instructions for applying for a UEN.

    S4C meetings are held at the Rosemead Community Recreation Center, 3936 Muscatel Street, Rosemead, CA 91770, just North of I-10 at the Rosemead Boulevard exit. Click here for driving directions.
Newsletters:
  • CVDCC does not publish a newsletter as its vehicle for communicating with members. This website is the main locus for Club news and information. The last issue (June 2004) of In Focus is available for download, as well as prior issues.
  • The digital imaging club newsletter, e-focus, was also discontinued in May, 2004. However, the back issues contain many useful articles on using Photoshop (older versions, but much is still current). Click here to download the May 2004 issue of e-focus, the last one to be published, as well as other back issues.
