The Desert Camera Club conducts programs of education, competitions, newsletters and photographic outings for the benefit of its members.

Important events:

  • View 2007 and 2008 Awardees.

  • S4C (Southern California Council of Camera Clubs) are held each month on a designated schedule (click here). The deadline for entry is the last day of the preceding month for digital and print titles (actual prints are brought on the day of the competition). The next competition will be Saturday, October 9th (deadline for entry: September 30).

    Click here for the S4C competition website including guidelines for entry. There are no time limits on images (they could have been taken in 1944!) and you do not have to attend the competition to enter.

    S4C is all Digital and Print. There are no Slide competitions. Digital competitions are now held in Pictorial Color, Creative, and Monochrome; and in Nature (General, Wildlife), Photo Travel, and Photojournalism (General, Human Interest). Print competitions are held in Large Color, Small Color, and Monochrome.

    At least one month prior to entering competition, a Uniform Entry Number (UEN) must be obtained. Click here to download form and instructions for applying for a UEN.

    S4C meetings are held at the California Baptist University, 8432 Magnolia Avenue, Riverside, CA 92504. Click here for driving directions.

Newsletters:
  • CVDCC does not publish a newsletter as its vehicle for communicating with members. This website is the main locus for Club news and information. The last issue (June 2004) of In Focus is available for download, as well as prior issues.

  • The digital imaging club newsletter, e-focus, was also discontinued in May, 2004. However, the back issues contain many useful articles on using Photoshop (older versions, but much is still current). Click here to download the May 2004 issue of e-focus, the last one to be published, as well as other back issues.

  • Latest Constitution & Bylaws adopted by the membership became effective as of April 18, 2004. These have been updated several times since then.
