Title of Section:

Manipulation

In certain categories of competition, as noted in the Category Definitions, the CVDCC does not allow “manipulation” of any images entered into competition, unless specifically indicated otherwise in competition announcements. In other categories manipulation is always allowed.

Where manipulation is not permitted, no elements of the image may be moved, cloned, added, deleted, rearranged, or combined. The only manipulations or modifications permitted are resizing, cropping, selective lightening or darkening, and restoration of original color of the scene. No special effect filters can be applied. Any changes, including sharpening, must appear natural.

Members are expected to conform to this definition whenever “manipulation” is prohibited. Not doing so may be grounds for disqualifying an entry from competition. The act of submission of an entry by a Club member into competitions where “manipulation” is prohibited constitutes an implicit affirmation by the member that there has been no “manipulation” of the image as defined above. Repeated violations of this requirement may be grounds for suspension, temporary or permanent, by the Board od Directorts of the Member’s privileges to enter into Club competitions.
